Hey All, Not sure the proper name, but the two vertical rods(one long and one shorter) that stop the motor from damage when you hit something the longer one has gotten bent over time hitting stumps, etc. and now when I ratchet the reverse the motor rubs on the longer one. What is the best way to straighten it out. Can I heat it up with yellow gas without damaging anything else and use a metal pipe slid over the rod to force it to straighten up? I tried the pipe, without heat last year, but really couldnt get it to budge. This situation also explains when it is in reverse and motor lock in place and get a bit of slop in reverse where it bounces up and hits those rods. Thanks, |

You can replace it. It's just a set screw that holds it in, loosen screw, knock it out, replace. Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk |

I have a 36 08 that had the same problem. The longer one had a chain link on it to keep the motor in the raised position. Had it catch a couple of time while running and hitting a stump and the chain link caught in the hook and kept it in the raised position. It was kinda aggravating and then it got bent as you are talking about and I just removed the chain link, cut the long one off to match the shorter one (problem solved). |
