May need to replace my trailer bunk boards and wondering if anyone has recommendations for the synthetic boards, rather than wood.

Thanks,

I had relatively newer bunks, but the carpet was starting to tear. A poster on here used a PVC gutter, ripped in half over his carpeted bunks. Seemed like a low cost alternative, so I gave it a shot. They’ve held up great, been on my trailer for around three years I think. I screwed them in in 5 minutes after coming back to the launch. I used SS fasteners on the sides, not top of bunks. Here’s the thread:

I got some true 2x6 cypress boards and put gatorglide on them.
Been great since 2012

I used solid PVC 1x trim boards glued and screwed (recessed) to my treated 2x4's. Topped with plastic bunk covers. I was getting discoloration on my hull at the seams in the plastic bunk covers

I say just regular ole pressure treated boards with a good coat of gator glide on on them.

As stated, plain treated = no bueno, but don't think anyone has had any issues when you put a solid coat of gator glide on it. Just be careful cause you can push the boat off with a feather. Make sure you keep it connected till over the water.

Simple and cheap solution.

I’ve always used treated boards with carpet and I maintain it. Haven’t had a problem for the past 15 years

PVC boards from Lowe’s. They don’t sell 1/4 or 1/2” anymore but I see they have 3/4 still... no need in counter sinking, you can screw them straight to your bunks and soft enough for screw to sink in enough to where it won’t scratch your boat
