Does anyone have any photos of how they tie down a copperhead 23 for trailering? Also, are you putting a block of wood or anything between the motor and transom? I just don't want to hook a ratchet strap up somewhere that I'm going to damage or bend something. We have to drive through some pretty rough fields sometimes. Thanks

A boat buckle on your trailer in the right location will allow you to keep
It from moving and also allow you to easily take it off and on

Copperhead mentioned throwing a strap over the handle but that definitely is not the way to go. Everything bounced way too much. Wchauvin, I didn't have a boat buckle. I just ran a regular ratchet through the copperhead logo on the shaft to the trailer. Lowered the trim all the way down, threw in a 1/4" rubber mat between the transom and motor and turned the motor so the prop was completely to the port side and tightened the ratchet down. Didn't move at all while trailering. Thank you for the input.

Secure to the hull, not the trailer.

Well F me. I guess it is not a good idea to secure the motor like that. I noticed there is a crack in the weld between the belt housing and the prop shaft the other day. Do you guys think running a ratchet strap across the belt housing from both sides of the boat would damage the housing? Or maybe building some type of jig to hold the handle in a floated position. The trim adjustment is in a bad spot on these copperheads. If the motor tilts forward too much it hits that trim and bends the rod pretty easily.

Looks like a bad weld to me. Shouldn’t crack down the center like that
