Post running stumps/logs
I do alot of hunting down small rivers/creeks & have a 1644 gator trax. There full of stumps & logs, my ? is between the gator tail & prodrive motor what one would perform better in them conditions? I know there both good motors & not trying to start no smack talk between the two. Also some of you are going to tell me to go test drive them both but around here no one has them & if they did dont think they would take me stump jumping anyway. Thanks for any advise.

To my experience they both perform the same in the conditions you have described, granted i am a gator-tail fan through and through i think as far as durability the pro-drive lower unit is said to hold up better in your situation.

I run a stump infested lake and didnt have a single problem out of my pro-drive this season

a pic of where i hunt...the lake was drawn down this year, usually all these stumps are lurking just below the surface of the water. and thats not even the bad part of the lake

That lake will destroy a 1/8th hull in a duck season.....unless you idle everywhere except the river channel.. :?
