I was at the local Bass Pro yesterday at lunch and decided to go take a look at the "Marsh Hunter" with the Mudbuddy...it seems that the new mudbuddy comes from the factory with the skeg already bent to the left...and bent quite a bit, more than i would have expected...that was the first time i've seen one in person...which led me to another thought...

What ever happened to the patent lawsuit that was filed.

Me and buddy had to weld a MB skeg where it cracked in two places and it was bent SIGNIFICANTLY to the left

Also the skeg on mud buddy's are steel somethin I didn't know til then

All of the MB skegs are bent like that on purpse, it's supposed to help with the tiller torque

I guess i just didn't realize that they were bent from the factory...correct me if i'm wrong, but i remember (i guess a couple of years ago) mudbuddy was just telling people to bend the skeg.

Quick question does anybody know if you can get the marsh hunter in an 1860 console drive or not? i know you can get it in an 1860 tiller but i'm needing a console and like the marsh hunter.

You can probably call down to Gatortrax and ask Kman if BP stole the console design plans when they snatched the regular tiller model plans!!!!!!!!!

you can mount the motor a little off center if you are having tiller torque and the majority of the time it is because the handle is pushing toward you. you can also bend the skeg (in the same direction as factory bend) if it stills pushes toward you after you put the motor left of center. just made a little adjustment to mine with the trusty rubber mallet and it runs much better.

I have the duals on a Tracker 1860 Grizzley but liked the slick bottom of the marsh hunter. Not to mention Pro Drive boats are back ordered like 8-9 months and that will make me miss alot of play time! They run good on the boat i got and i'm getting mid 30's but you can never have enough speed. I would also be interested in trading someone for an 1856 or another 1860 used phowler or prodrive boat.
