what kind of rpm should i be expecting out of a gtr 35 with stage 1 - decked heads ,mikuni, old style bps exhaust?

Depending on the prop....anywhere's from 4100-4400.

i got it back from hoyt friday and put the mikuni on then ran it for a min and was only turning like 4000 maybe a little more but i have a 175 jet in it ,think that could be a prob......stock prop

I wouldn't worry about it. 4000 is still a good number. Once you wear the prop down a little you'll gain a few more rpm's.

i was turning almost that much stock , didnt do what i was expecting.

u should be around 4500 to 4800
check to see if your throttle is opening all the way

its opening up i dont know whats the prob.

yah you should be getting more then 4K

With Hoyts mods you should not go over I wanna say 4600, but you would have to check with him. You may have to bend the tab on the carb to get the rpms right.

thanks craig, your right i should only be turning about 4200- 4300 from what i hear but thanks for the help

I have the stage 1 and i'm turning 4400 with the big blade prop. i do have a mudbuddy.

not good water is falling fast and there slacking off the opposite of what they should be doing

changed the jet and now i think shes about right 4250 satisfied ........thanks for all the input

What size jet did you put in?
