I am thinking about replacing my modified stock carb with a Mikuni. i am trying to figure out what the difference between the these two carbs are? Why would you buy one over the other? I know this is probably a stupid question, but....

Looked like there was some decent input in this thread. Did this not help? And as far as I know, the carb is the same. 42hsr???? With the bps, you may be able to get a 45

Thx man- I should have read it, as it was my post! LOL. I am just not clear why the same carb sold from two different companies perform differently. My only assumption is that BPS and EVT are tweaking them, and I am trying to figure out what they are doing! Not a big deal, I was thinking about doing this last duck season, but I ended up keeping the stock. I saw the 45, I was going to give Micah a call on Monday.

I would have to think it has more to do with the intake than the carb itself, that is if they are the exact same carb. If the carb is the same, I would assume the jetting would have to be pretty similar in order for the motor to function properly.

I'm talking way out of my league, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I'm learning, but slowly, and I've still never taken a carb apart and don't understand exactly how everything works, so there's a good chance I'm wrong.

Probably won't get too much help over the weekend as almost everyone with a running boat, besides shadow , is in South LA at the mud run. Should get some more info come monday or tuesday.
