 What does this do?
What the hell is this little red wire for? At first I thought it was the positive battery cable, but it isn't. So...what does it do, where do I attach it, etc. This picture is from a Vanguard 35 CDI Marine.
Thanks!!!

 Re: What does this do?
not the best of pics but looks like the red wire that comes off the rectifier which is what charges your battery... like i said not very clear of a pic... you can connect is straight to your batter or to the positive terminal on the solenoid which is common with the positive side of the batter... looks like the ones on the CDI motors come with a long wire....

 Re: What does this do?
Deadbird, are you saying that I should tie the red cable directly to the positive battery post or are you suggesting that I shorten it and tie it into the positive battery cable? The cable is about 3' long and I was contemplating whether to put the battery in the front of the boat or the rear of the boat. If I put it in the front of the boat, what should I do with that smaller cable?

 Re: What does this do?
he is saying make it as short as possible and tie it to the postive on the solenoid... that way the 50A charge travels through the heavy gauge to the battery

 Re: What does this do?
Just to make sure I have this straight and by the look of the picture I think I can see it now. I can just cut it down to a few inches and then mount it to the same bolt on the solenoid that the positive battery cable is mounted...is that correct? It won't negatively affect the solenoid/starter correct?

 Re: What does this do?
You hook it up directly to your electric fuel pump!
