Post Not sure what to adjust. Need some help
I have the Mikuni carb on my 35 mud buddy runs awesome out of water and if I can get it up on plane it does fine but if I try to take of in the water it bogs down and wont crank up the rpms it acts like its getting way to much fuel I went to a 160 main jet a 25 pilot and turned down my fule air mixture nothing has seemed to help I even wnt the other way thinking it was starving for fuel but it got worse. It mostly seems like it right of idle to about 1/2 throttle once the rpms get going it acts fine. I adjsuted the screw that pushes down the acclrator pump to start later still no results running out of things to try Thanks for the help

22.5 to 25 is fine on the pilot, put the clip in the middle on the needle, 160 should be fine on the main and adjust by adding air with the pic off screw(brass screw) for your bottom end. Accelerator pump should hit as soon as you squeeze the throttle. You should check the float level and for any air leaks as well. You could also have water in the fuel as well. Stock exhaust could make it want to run rich as well. These motors spend the majority of the time running on the pilot, pic off screw and the needle position. The main does not come in until after 3/4 throttle which much does not happen after that. Carb is just a wee bit big for the cubic inches of the briggs.

i've seen where a faulty rev box will cause similar issues. had the exact problem when we where test running jetter's rig. eliminated the rev limiter and the issue was gone.

I'm having the same problem but mine might not be as bad. When I hit the throttle, sometimes it does want to bog down. If I let off and then back on the throttle 2-3 times, it then catches and takes off. I thought the jets might need to be cleaned because it began after sitting up for a couple of months (although I did start it in driveway) but y'all are making me think it needs to be adjusted slightly. I run the small Racor water separator, replaced all my fuel line recently and run Seafoom every tank with Marine Stabil every other.

Small screw in the back by the accellerator pump will adjust it. You want the plastic to to the pump rod end to be 2mm (pretty close).
