 Prodrive Starter Rebuild
Anyone know of anybody that rebuilds these starters, or sells rebuilding kits? I have my old one replaced and would like to rebuild this one for a spare.

 Re: Prodrive Starter Rebuild
i get this problem in all the time at my mc shop, and most of the time they dont need to be rebuilt. if you take the screws out that hold em together, u will see two spring loaded magnets called brushes that ride on the magnets of the starter. usually if its not filled with crap and corrosion, u can jus make sure the magnets can move freely in the brackets that hold them. they have to be able to slide down as they wear, but this takes so long that they kinda freeze up in the square housing. most times they just arent making a good enough contact to flow the voltage.

 Re: Prodrive Starter Rebuild
I just used a 3/4 inch drive socket and slide it in and then slid the starter in and it pushed the socket out the way
