 MB 35 upgrade to a 45
I have a 35 MB on a 1851 excel f4, and wanting to maybe bump it up to a 45. What would be the best bang for the buck mods? Any good shops around Morgan City that will work on these engines?

Is it a CDI or standard briggs?
You can bolt on BPS heads, carb and exhaust. If you want to convert to a 45, its cam, pistons, c-rods, push rods, and rockers.
I have a CDI with heads, carb, and cam. With the 4300 rev limit, I geared down and run a prop with more pitch on it. It moves my 1851.

 Re: MB 35 upgrade to a 45
I have a Mud Buddy Black Death 5500 which is similar to what DB8 has and it pushes my 1750HD GT to about 31 with me in it and 29 mph with two guys and a hunting load.
My engine has heads, carbs, push rods, roller rockers but internally it's still stock. I think these mods will give you the most power for your money.
DB8, what pitch prop are you running? I think mine came with a stock 12x10 and I'm hitting the rev limiter like nothing so I think I need to go up a bit.
