I have been thinking on a new rig the 18 x 54 cc 36 pd with the bells and all. I would like to know could i use the manual reverse on a remote steer set up ? or pay the other 1500 for the hydro reverse , old rig is a 16 x48 gd sd and boat ,will think i like reverse but wont use a lot

Buy the hydro, its a pain in the ass with the remote steer. You can thank me later.

You say you wont use it much until you have it. Then you will be kicking yourself if you dont get the hydro reverse, especially with the remote setup.

I have a CC PD on a Gator Trax 1750. I bought this set up before they had the Hyd reverse. With the standard reverse you can not reach the "pull pin" and turn the steering wheel at the same time (at least not where I have my CC). So you have to lean over the transom, pull the "pull pin" and then rotate the lower unit by hand. Try doing this in thick veg/ mud. You get the picture- Not fun. You will barely use it. IMO- If you get a CC PD and want reverse, just add the $1500 to the cost of having a CC.

Spend the money and get the hydro, I've had it both ways and never used reverse when it was manual because it was such a pain. Now I use it every day out with the hydro.

Hydro is a Must with a CC.

Its not an added 1500 --- its only 1000 more if your going with reverse anyway
