Replacement Muffler
I posted this in the Longtail Talk section since it deals with a Beavertail, but thought I would put it in here as well.
Do y'all purchase replacement mufflers through the manufacturer of the motor, or can you buy them from aftermarket dealers? I am not looking to upgrade to some fancy muffler, just replace the stock muffler with a new, maybe more durable one. Thanks for the help.

Re: Replacement Muffler
Mufflers are a common replacement item. They are easily available from the respective motor dealers. They will retail at around $100.00 +-. Unfortunately they will be like the muffler that came on your motor origionally. That's why there is a market for fancy mufflers after market.
If you were fortunate enough to have a Robin engine on your rig. You wouldn't have this problem as their stock muffler on their twins is at least twice as stout as most of the other twin brands.

Re: Replacement Muffler
You may contact places that outfit new motors with the 'fancy' aftermarket mufflers. You may be able to get a deal on a new one. I saw MB was selling stock mufflers for a decent price a while ago- worth checking them, EVT, GT etc...
