 Motor Hours?
How many hours can realistically be put on a surface drive motor? What is the life expectancy of these motors? I know that it is a broad question because everyone uses them differently, but if one was maintained and not abused what can you expect? If you blow one up what kind of dollars does it take to rebuild?

 Re: Motor Hours?
ive seen MM's with as high as 1500-2000 hrs on them and still running strong. mine has 450 hrs on it and running just like the day i bought it. you can get many years of service out of it if properly mantained and i guess a bit of luck thrown in because just like anything else you could always get a lemon lol

 Re: Motor Hours?
chad, how long did it take you to put those 450 hours on your engine? I bought a new MB 5500 in September and ended the season with 48 hours and this was with me literally going hunting every other day.

 Re: Motor Hours?
You guys must have a lot of time on your hands, I wish I could be out there that much. I think I would've put more hours on my engine this season but I found a hole that was literally 15 minutes from the dock and was full of ducks. All these other guys were running out an hour or more and were getting no where near the ducks I was.

Work 14/14 and single. I got nothing but time on my hands. Where I hunt, the birds are worth the trip.
