Post Mud Buddy Cav Plat.
Might be a stupid concern but the Problem I have is if i run this on my motor it seems to throw water away from the prop and I cant hardly take off. If I put the standard straight brace back on it fixes the problem.. Anyone else ever see this with the Cav plate and if so why does it make a difference...

Thanks.. Like I said not sure why it blows the prop out when I try to take off. If I run the stock brace its fine. If I put the cav plate on it will hit the rev limiter before I can get on plane and I have to slowly ease on the throttle to plane of the boat.

I ran a cav plate on one of my demo's for a duck season and I couldnt tell it was ever back there, but come fishing season when the veggies started to grow thick I had to constantly pick the prop out of the water to clear the prop, so I took it off shortly after.

As far as your situation, does your boat sit very low in the water? If so, what may be happening is water is going over the top of the cav plate and not allowing the prop to run at the surface where it is suppose to.

Boat Dr. I dont think it sits to low in the water.. But it does seem like the water is going right over the cav plate and not getting to the prop.. It didn't seem to matter when I had my 3 blade prop on but it seems to make a big difference with the 2 blade.. Also Im getting a crack im BPS crossover welded up and going to be running a stock muffler for couple days. Will I need to adjust anything or is it not going to matter, Im thinkin It might run a little rich .

No, there is no need to adjust anything.........Your ears will be thanking you, and you will notice a little less hole shot and probably lose a couple rpm's, but that is about it.

What's the exact purpose for the cavatation plate? My boat runs fine with it but the water lillys do like to hang when I'm going slow. I do think it makes a good prop guard when there is alot of wood debris in the waters you kinda putting around and starting and stopping alot in the woods.

I've always wondered about that because I see alot of the large Mudbuddys without them. Hey Boat Dr, you gotta any braces without the cav plates lying around. I run more veggies than mud.
