 Leak through exhaust gasket

Post Leak through exhaust gasket
I noticed that a small hole has been burned through one of my exhaust gaskets. Anybody else have this? What can I do to prevent it when I put a new gasket on? I have the bolts torqued to spec.

Use a stock one and clean both surfaces really well.

The one that burned was a Briggs gasket. I'll try it again and clean both surfaces.
