Post Mikuni Overflow Leaking While Running
I recently had a bunch of mods completed on my GTR35.

The mods I had done were:
Marshmellow Exhaust
Mikuni Carb
Iron Mountain Heads
Hoyts Cam

When running, the overflow vent tube from the Mikuni dumps a lot of fuel pretty much constantly. I have done some searching around this site and have found that it could be caused by the needle and seat that should have come with the carb not getting replaced when it was installed. Does anyone have any other ideas that may cause it?

The mods were all installed by a reputable dealer that I have a lot of confidence in and I believe that it was was probably just missed. I don't really want to take it back to the dealer because it is a very long drive and not really worth it for what appears to be a relatively small problem.

My main question is does anyone know how I can order the correct needle and seat?

Thanks,
Ryan

Float needs to be adjusted. There's a lil tab on it that needs to be bent slightly to cut off the fuel flow a lil sooner. VERY common issue, but definitely NOT a problem. Easy fix.

Camo, is likely right but could be trash got stuck in the needle/seat make sure you have a good fuel filter. If you are running an electric fuel pump it could be running too much pressure and pushing fuel past the needle.

Thanks, I'll give it a try this weekend. I'm not overly trusting of my mechanical skills, but a friend of mine that is a small engine mechanic will be stopping by. I'll bribe him with some beer!

Is there a "How to" somewhere out there so we don't bend it the wrong way?

Its a simple task to set, Plus you'll be able to check the needle and seat size yourself rather than taking someone elses word for it. mistakes happen sometimes

Most carbs come with a gravity feed ( Harley ) needle and seat or size wise a 4.2

The one that you'll need for running with a fuel pump will be a 2.3 ( smaller orifice ).

Float setting will be covered in your Mikuni owner's and tuning manual on page 8 (orange book) I recommend reading it cover to cover . If you didn't get one with the kit then you can also go to their website and find it.
