 MB 31hp hyperdrive idling problem
I have a 2005 31 hp MB HD that doesn't want to idle especially after it warms up. Cranks fine. Compression is perfect. I put a new stock carburator on it but that didn't seem to help very much. MB tells me that this carb is really the problem and I should replace with one of the other types they sell. Idles worse when prop is in the water . Does anyone have a picture(s) of what the carburator area looks like. I want to be sure my springs are at the correct location. Also, should the governor control lever come back to it's home location after squeezing the throttle with motor not cranked. Mine doesn't come back and the throttle lever has looseness in it until your try and crank the motor.
Is it worth the big bucks to put one of these new non stock carbs on? Do the new carbs idle well? Any place to get carbs other than going thru MB? They are mighty pricey.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's mighty nice of MB trying to Obama you into a several hundred dollar carb when you can fix the one you got...
