How hard is it to have a hunt deck added to a boat? Or does the hunt deck have to be built with the boat

We notch out for the hunt deck. Some people actually add one increasing the length of the hull. Our way is approximately a 4 hour job.

Hope this helps....

The hunt deck and the bottom of the hull are one continuous piece on my Gator Trax.

I understand. So I'd lose a foot and a few inches of boat

Talk to Autogateman, J added a huntdeck to the back of his boat and it came out good.

If your worried about back splash, the reverse plate cuts it down to almost nothing. For 200$ its probably cheaper if your just worried about water in your boat.

I'm undecided whether or not to get a hunt deck added or the reverse plate. How do y'all think a 35GTR will run on a 17x42 skiff?

42" is fine if you don't run heavy loads, if you like narrow. I personally like wider. I run a 17x52 and i'm well satisfied.

Do you think the 17 inch sides will be a problem?

Maybe...if you put a little weight in it. My sides are 21" Thats a heavy ass motor plus you and a battery in the back. I like my 52. Are you trying to cut down on weight by making it that small?

I run a lot of ditches. But the only skiff I found so far in my price range has 17 inch sides

I would try to test run it first...see if you can bolt your motor on it and run it. If the boat is built already, whoever you buy it from should let.

you don't want a boat that you don't like

just sayin

If the motor is a tall transom you will have to build it up any way so adding a deck isn't much more work

As long as I make my turns wisely and pay attention when I slow down I should be fine?
