Mods to my Copperhead 18hp Vanguard
I am running a 1448 G-3 with an 18horse Copperhead which has absolutely no problem with power but I would like to move up to a slightly larger boat thats welded so I would like to see what my option are so if anyone has modified one of the 18hp vanguards or has any suggestions it would be much appreciated unfortunately I don't think EVT is around anymore.

There are a ton of mods for them from the golf cart scene, most are for higher rpm application than what we use.

a 23 hp motor to start. thats 5 hp with out any more wieght or mods. thats almost a 33 precent gain. i dont understand why they even offer the 18 or a 31 when thhey are built on the same blocks.

SOAK, a smooth bottom hull will run much better than a ribbed hull.
