 louisiana special problems

has anyone running this motor had the bolts back out of the belt housing that attach it to the back of the block mine did with 170hrs screwed up all the hole and have had to get the cover repaired and does anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do to prevent this again thank for any input guys

either you can lock washer it or put a small amount of loctite

riding with my buddys last weekend before the bolt came out the upper gear housing on the mag 45 is bigger in width than my louisiana special alowing for easier access to the bolts mine u have to remove all componets of lower unit to tighten up these bolts think i will use lock washers and lock tight does anyone know the bolts for these small inner mounting holes

thanks guys for all the help i think i found the root of all my problems while pulling my rear case plate off saw the block move back all 4 mounting bolts where loss i think this caused the bolts to vibrate and back out of the block from the belt housing they b tight now and the motor is back up and ready to run sunday on caddo wish me luck that she holds together again thank everyine for the help :D

A friend of mine had the same problem with his! first time it sheared two bolts and backed the other two out enough to tear up the belt and pully. Second time it broke the case. It seemed as if their was a lot of tension between the case and the case cover. when it broke the second time you could see a 3/16 gap between the crank case and the belt housing. Soo this go round he made sure to lossen the 4 block bolts, pull the motor to the housing, and then retighten. We shall see.

get some bolts you can run tie wire or commonly called airplane wire though the head tien two to gather. i would also use lock washers two
