I have a 16 hp vanguard lt. I have new gas and it cranks strong but will not run unless I drop gas into the top if the carb. I did have some fuel leaking from the omc fitting at the tank and thought it might not be getting a good siphon. Was wondering if this motor relies on the siphon or if it has a pump? I took the omc fitting off and placed it directly into the fuel tank and tried to pump fuel in. Still didn't work. I took the air cleaner assembly off and I see fuel in the carb but don't know if it's enough. Any ideas???

Carb cleaner did the trick. Now I got a loud squeal coming from the prop.
