I bought a Excel 18 foot Midwest Edition boat this year and it has a 2011 50hp yamaha f50 tiller hanle motor with about 5 hrs on it. I was wondering if the Black Death 5500 would push my boat alright and what is a good price to pay for this motor.

It will push your boat fine, your not gonna see the speeds you did with the 50 but the ability to go anywhere overrides that...be ready to drop 8 grand on one

Get the high rev CDI coils for it so you can run the RPMs its capable of.

I would suggest single carb model, better hole shot and accellerator pump on the carb.

stay away from the twin carbs like dead bird said. they have a terrible low speed bog. thats almost impossible to work out. look in the classifieds for sale. there are two sets of twin carbs for sale. buy the mb 5000.
