Turn your governer up to 4350 if you have your valves shimmed and run it. I have heads, cam, timing, and stock carb. Runs excpetionally well.

Do you have to pull the head to shim valve springs on a 35-36, or can you get it on TDC and let the piston stop the valve from going down?

If you have to pull your heads off, definitely need to look into some head work.

I have the marine engine. which has the revlimiter in the coils at 4350. im sure i will be all over the limiter with the cam but was wondering how it works with the gov in there with the new cam and stock carb?

my valves are shimmed already from when i shaved the heads and installed stianless valves...

im sure i will have to add cup/pitch to keep myself off the limiter im guessing....

Get rid of the gov while your putting it the cam and install high rev coils

Not sure about the high rev coils.....how many RPM's is safe on these engines?

i was thinking getting the prop repitched to keep the RPM's down. Not sure what direction to go.

i can tell you with the stock rev limit and prop, the 36PD will top out at 30mph in deep water. Thats what i run with nothing in the boat turning 4350rpms...

now with a load i will turn 4000 to 4100 running 25-26mph with a good load...

im thinking with a little more pitch, i can turn around 4350 with a load and and maybe get about 32 light, and around 30 loaded.

I stay on my limiter with just heads and ever exhaust

4250 by myself with a brand new prop

The stock carb will be fine but you need to jet it and get high rev coils

Not stock,,,

Shaved, ported heads with stainless valves and a marshmellow muffler. Its on the 17x54 prodrive hull.

i was getting 28-29 stock with the center console. These are all deepwater speeds...
