can someone tell me what this lil box is, and it's purpose. the reason i ask is because i do not have a hose on mine. i see the stock ones go to the carb, and i have a minkuni. but so does the motor in this picture(which belongs to ddm) so i was wondering if i needed a hose on mine. also i notice that a lil oil comes out of it where the hose is suppose to connect and im wondering if that is ok or not, or if it may cause a future problem. just trying to catch a potential problem early i suppose. any input would be appreciated

case vent, you don't need a hose on it. I have a lil filter on mine

go to orielly and look for a small k&n filter that they sell by the high performance shelf. It should fit on there fine. Hoyte took the hose off when he did the work on the motor and I just never got around to putting one on. Not gonna hurt anything just don't spray water in there when your washing it off.

oh i know the lil filter yall are talking about. think i have seen em on valve covers where the pvc valve usually is.

Its always had a sign of oil around the hole. Not blowing oil out noticably, just enough to show a slick when you get back from running. I assume thats normal. Someone else may know more about that part.

Quit worrying about small stuff. On these motors small stuff will eat you alive. Just go use the forker, if something breaks you fix it. If you worry about something breaking till something breaks your gonna spoil all the fun of running it like you stole it.
