Post Finally was able to figure out my RPM problem...
I have been learning as I go along with the tweaking of this motor, so for some this will be obvious, but I was struggling to get my RPM's at WOT out of the water above 4050. I had the governor screw torqued pretty good, and nothing. I finally decided to move the governor spring from the middle slot to the slot closest to the muffler, or the bottom of the engine (PD 36).

It all began to come together after this. I was able to dial in the idle screw, and back out the governor screw significantly. Now the motor is idling steady at 1100 RPM's and at WOT set at 4250-4290.

On a Prodrive 36, is the governor spring supposed to be in this location? It certainly worked for me. I hope this helps anybody with a PD struggling to get the RPM's dialed in.

That is where the spring is supposed to be, last slot out on the governor arm. Otherwise, it doesn't have the leverage to pull when the throttle is mashed. Glad you found it- now run it like you stole it.

Here is some step by step if you want to pass it on- the spring in the last slot is noted in the text and shown in the pictures.

DB8- I got this link from one of your other posts, and this is actually where I got the idea. So thank you! The pictures are of a horizontal, so I wasn't sure it would be the same for a vertical...but it worked like a charm! Thx again.

The 36 and 35 are the same adjustments, but I really have to qualify my answer:

Being in FL, I think the third spot will work just fine!
