 Valve not staying lashed
I have a 35 GTR with decked heads, GT cam, mikuni, and MPE and the exhaust valve on #1 head will not stay lashed. 1 hr of ride time and it will ping and the tappet will slap obnoxiously. I have tightened the nut as tight as i can get it. Any ideas what could be causing it? or suggestions to fix it?

 Re: Valve not staying lashed
Thanks coondik, i replaced rocker, stud, set screw and nut thinking it was a bad rocker/set screw. Stud has remained tight. GT recommended loctite on the set screw and nut so i guess i'll try that. im hoping its not the cam...

 Re: Valve not staying lashed
swap that rocker, bolt, adjustment stud, nut, & push rod with the one right next to it. that will help u isolate the problem. if the problem still occurs it may be that lobe on the cam. make shure your settin' @ 1/4 past TDC. may wanna check the valve as well. could be a bent stem or bad guide that's causing it to stick & not fully close!
