Post Gator tail trim.
I have a 35 gator tail. Motor kicked up last trip and unplugged a wire off my trim rocker switch. Has done it before. I stuck wire back on but no trim. I have 12 volts at the trim motor , in both wires. One when you press up and one when you press down. Trim still does not work. The motor is about three years old. What's the chances of pulling wire off switch and the trim motor going bad all at the same time? I have only found one fuse and it's good. Seems like there's maybe a reset button on the trim motor that I am not seeing. Thanks.

It is grounded through the wires you you were checking. If you connect 12 volts positive to one wire and ground the other wire the trim should work. If you reverse the connections it should operate in the opposite direction.

Thank you sir. I will do that tomorrow and see if it will work. I might have problems with the switch.

I ran 12 volt positive and a ground to the wires coming out of the trim motor. It doesn't budge or make any noises. I will talk to gator tail tomorrow but it's looking like trim motor is bad.

Sounds like it's time for a new trim motor. If it's the old cmc style trim it is probably the brushes. You could probably fix it but the new parker unit is much better.

Try resetting the circuit breaker or bypassing it.

Only way to verify operation, is to cut the connections from the harness, and then use the wires direct to battery. Reverse polarity to reverse rod action.

It is a premade harness with 2 relays, a circuit breaker, and a toggle switch. The circuit breaker and the + for the toggle switch are connected to the Battery Pos
All the grounds are connected to the Battery Neg, and the trigger wires from the toggle switch activate the Relays for Up/Down movement.

I did cut the wires loose and run straight to batt. Didn't work. Thanks Max.

These units are notorious for having the Motor seals leak oil into the motor unit. Then once that happened you cannot get the motor to spin fast or at all. Where are you located?
