How about buying frame only?
Thinking of buying a MB frame now and trying to find an engine for it later. Assuming the frame fits the engine we are looking for, what should we be looking for or looking out for in evaluating a frame? And, I guess, is it a good or ok idea? Thanks.

Re: How about buying frame only?
If you can find all the parts you need it will be Ok, but by the time you find what you need you will save a few $$$$, but not much unless you come across a sweet deal on everything. The problem I see is you will be throwing a bunch of used pieces and parts together. In the end that is what you will hafve a used unit to start. You may end up with a lot of wrech time.
I would save up for a new outfit all as one and make the purchase then, or be choosy and buy a whole used unit. There are plenty of used units out there with low or moderate hours on them for a reasonable price.
Check the classifieds here, or call all the dealres and maufacturers and give them your name/number and put them on the lookout. They will know best what is in good shape or not.
