 PD Electric/Clutch Issues
2009 PD 36 hp :: Stock :: 80 Hrs :: Original Clutch
Here's the story... Recently was out fishing with the family and running with no issues, then all of a sudden lose all power. Turning key gets nothing, no click, just a a dead. Get home and start messing around with wiring and noticed that the inline fuse between starter and control box was a bit a loose and wiggling indicated that was the issue, so replaced that. Just recently was about to head out and seems that wasn't the complete fix. Turning the key sometimes get power and sometimes it doesn't. Can't seem to identify any additional loose connection in the pig tail connectors or within the control box.
My guess is the big red button might be the issue by searching on here, but wanted to see if there were any ideas out there. One thing that I did notice and not sure if it was like that before, but with key in the on position I can push the bump button as well as engage the red button and can hear the clutch engage.
Thanks in advance

 Re: PD Electric/Clutch Issues
Does your prop spin or not? Had a similar issue, but the prop would only engage with momentary. These clutches are known to have wiring issues, which is typically the issue, but if momentary and red button work does not sound like a clutch issue with yours.

 Re: PD Electric/Clutch Issues
Spoke with Jacob this morning at PD and gave me some ideas on where/how to start chasing it down. He was thinking that the key switch is the issue, since there is intermittent total power loss.

 Re: PD Electric/Clutch Issues
This is what I got...
Key in off position: Red & Orange (terminal B) = 12v Black (terminal M) = 0v Yellow/Red (terminal S) = 0v Black & Black/Yellow (terminal M) = 0v Purple (terminal A) = 0v
Key in on position: Red & Orange (terminal B) = 0v Black (terminal M) = 0v Yellow/Red (terminal S) = 0v Black & Black/Yellow (terminal M) = 0v Purple (terminal A) = 0v
It's got to be the key switch, right?
