has anyone else had a coil problem where the coils won't allow to start motor and disconnect and it starts but can't shut it off?

The diodes in the harness are bad. You can purchase diodes ridiculously cheap and build a new set of kill wires or you can order it as a harness from briggs.

Yea, you can get diodes for a few pennies. You can build the same thing for like a dollar.

If you decide to rebuild with new diodes, take the harness with you. Radio shack has them. I remember it being kind of a pain to call around and explain what I needed. I ended up just taking the harness up there and trying to match it up by myself.
