 2007 Godevil 35 Carb Issues
Im working on a buddies 2007 godevil he just bought. The carb was gummed up pretty bad so i went to take it apart and noticed that the throttle cable was replaced by the previous owner. The motor wouldnt start before at all unless given some sort of accelerant. Once i cleaned the carb out(every jet was just about closed off with gunk) I put it back together and the motor starts fine. But it immediately starts to rev up without stopping. Also noticed there is a little tube that shoots fuel out as soon as the motor starts also.
Anyone have a good diagram of how the linkages go? Also any ideas on why the throttle seems to be stuck open? And any ideas what the little tube goes to?
Thanks in advaced.
Never had to dig this deep into cleaning my prodrive.

Which little tube are you talking about it leaking from? Factory carb or mikuni? Maybe a pic

Re: 2007 Godevil 35 Carb Issues
Found a picture in another thread. 3rd pic down viewtopic.php?t=32460 it has a cap on the tube on the bottom left. I messed with it a little this morning and it looks like I am missing a couple springs and the springs I do have are broken lol. I can't somewhat control the throttle on the right side of the carb (looking at it from the rear of the boat) but when it slows down on the rpms it runs pig rich. Gotta find a spring kit it looks like.

That one must have a cap on it to run right. Gov linkage and or springs must be giving you high revs.

Re: 2007 Godevil 35 Carb Issues
Okay so the carb was junk. So I got a new take off from the boat dr. Bolted it on and it started and idled fine.
Next issue is its not getting any kind of good rpms. Doesn't hit the limiter out of the water, and will only push his 1656 18mph.
Anyone have any input?

2007 doesn't have a rev limiter, but turn the governor up. If the heads are stock, you probably want it set in the 43-4400 range.

Re: 2007 Godevil 35 Carb Issues
Got it set to 4200rpms out of the water. This bitch is slow tho. And I'm a prodrive owner lol. Not getting any better than 19 mph. Rpms inn the water no better than 3400 before I lose speed due to trimming up. Stock 3 blade.
