Post gator tail transmission lube
can anyone tell me what the correct lube is for the transmission on a gtr35 2013 model, i was told when i bought the replacement transmission to use atf fluid, but videos show oil, does it matter and if so which way is best.

I use 80w90 gear oil in the planetary trans. The heavier oil helps keep the outer seal from leaking on the newer models. ATF is a sufficient lubricant for planetary gears, But being there is such a small amount that is used in there (about 2 OZ), I suggest 80w90 and be done with it. Do not use ATF...

i called gator tail and the rep there was the one that told me to use atf.

Hoyt made a video that's on YouTube that recommends using the same oil in the transmission that you use in the motor. Like the rest of the guys said the heavier oil will be better because it will stick to everything and lube it better

I know people say they leak, but I've been following that video and haven't had mine leak in 90 hours.

80w 90 gear oil I know hoyt said to use engine oil but over time they will start leaking a lil that's why maxxis said to use the thicker oil.
