 Prodrive trouble shooting help
Bought a 2014 36hp prodrive back in September. Only 54 hours on the motor. I got everything checked out before bringing it out. I brought it out this past weekend and ran fine for two days. On the way back to marina it started to lose power while giving it full throttle. It didn't kill but the engine was definitely losing power. I kept on it and it quit. I ran for another 2-3 minutes and then it gave out completely. I checked the fuel line and was still getting gas to the engine. I am able to start it and it will turn over and run for 5-10 seconds and then give out. I haven't had a chance to look at it just yet, and not very familiar with these motors. I am wondering if the water separator is going out. We had a hard rain for a whole day while it sat in the water and I did leave the cap partially vented. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I start tearing into it. Thanks
ETA: I also noticed for the first time that when I put the motor in reverse I am getting a leak that looks like gas or possibly trim fluid. Someone I talked to said not to worry about it but I have not noticed it before.

 Re: Prodrive trouble shooting help
Were you getting a lot of water spray on your engine while running?

 Re: Prodrive trouble shooting help
I noticed I was losing power with mine while going through some thick vegetation and when I would try to trim the motor while running. I traced it to a loose ground at the battery. It's probably not your issue if it dies at idle, but it won't hurt to check it out.

Yes. It sat in the rain for about a day. Then definitely had water getting into it while running.

 Re: Prodrive trouble shooting help
Drained the carburetor and emptied the gas. She running better than before now. Can someone explain the leak when I put it in reverse though?

 Re: Prodrive trouble shooting help
Where is it leaking from? Or, are you just seeing a sheen on the water?
