I have a Prodrive 18x48 with a Gen 2 36. So i have the heads done, mikuni carb, 4700rpm coils, Mac Muff, Cam from Nick Peltier and can run around 35-36 unloaded. It flat out runs good but there are 2 issues I have at the time.

I have a light mounted on the back of the motor and it always seems that there is some kind of faint smoke coming out the exhaust at idle. When revved up it blows a little, but there seems to be little to no oil consumption. Where should the air/fuel screw be?

Second issue is that when the motor is idling, there is a small drip out of the carb overflow (small black hose on bottom of mikuni) and it is consistent. The only time it stops is when I increase the idle to over 1400rpm, or when im running. Other than that, it will drip. Could it be the needle seat wearing out?

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

2.5 turns, but that's just the starting point. Basic a/f mixture carb tuning from there. Principle is the same in all carbs with a screw. Adjust until it idles at peak and smooth. Once you're off idle, it doesn't matter much. Half throttle, it doesn't matter at all.

Yeah, or could just need a slight adjustment of the float level to keep a tad more pressure on that seat.

If it's only a slight drip, shouldn't take much. Check the float needle while you have it apart. If it's not a perfect cone, then it needs replacing to seal properly.

Any ideas on the smoke??? Has a constant amount of smoke come out when idling...

Is it one of those duck dynasty blue or red lights or a white light? This info will help to diagnose the problem.

Blue, black, or whitish?

Not too sure about the duck dynasty lights.....its a regular white halogen light. Small and located on the back of the motor. When running at night, at idle there is visible smoke.
