Price Check: 35HP Kawasaki Surface Drive
Looking at a motor/boat combo, mostly interested in the boat. If I have to buy the combo, I need to sell the Mudbuddy. The motor is a 35HP kawasaki surface drive. It is in good condition, I believe an '02. What would be a fair price, that would move relatively fast? I would be selling on the west coast, if that makes a difference. Thanks!

Same here...that is why I was curious, I have seen plenty of 29, but never a 35. I have seen pictures and it is definitely a kawasaki, could be a 29 though.

OK, assume it is a 29, what's the answer? Wants to move it fast and cheap. Assuming it is working fine, what can he move it for?

That motor isn't gonna be worth much....I can assure you. The kawi's are pretty expensive to fix when something goes wrong.

Run from that deal. Those motors are crap.
They blow fuel every where and have the worst HP to weight ratio of all of them. I would get a longtail first.
I have not owned one. However, I have seen the problems first hand. THEY SUCK.
B/S or Kohler only.

Re: Price Check: 35HP Kawasaki Surface Drive
Mudbuddy's first year for Hyperdrive surface motors was 2004. I owned a 29 HP Kawasaki Hyper. Ideally, you would want to sell this thing to someone with a 16 or maybe 17 foot boat. These motors like lighter loads. They bog down under the type of load produced by an 18 foot boat, boat blind, mega spread, 3 guys and a dog or two.
If the motor is in good shape and you want to sell it fast you might get $1,500 to $2K for it.
Like others have said, Kawasakis get expensive to fix when they start to break. But the electronic fuel injection and not having to mess with a choke is nice if the motor is run in cold climes.
