Which jets to run?
Doing some mods to a 2009 35GTR. As of now it has Mikuni 42 mm carb, Black Death Intake and Double Barrel Marshmellow Performance Exhaust. In the near future i'm going to be doing .50 Delta heads and a .310 Delta camshaft. Have the parts just havent started the project yet. Just curious as to what jets in the carb to start with? Im in Iowa roughly 1000ft altitude. Also what ballpark rpm increase should i be seeing after this? With a worked Big Blade prop i run around 4k now. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Re: Which jets to run?
162.5, 165, 167.5 main
One of those will likely be correct. Probably the 165 or 167.5

Re: Which jets to run?
Is the main jet the only one that will need changed or will the pilot also need changed?

You may need to adjust the needle.

Re: Which jets to run?
Ok I'll see how it runs with just a main jet change first. Thanks!

Re: Which jets to run?
I have the same carb (love it by the way) on my 4400 HDR Black Death. I put a performance cam, and roller rocker/push rods on my motor. I bought the 162.5 and 165 jets... and found out, (FOR ME) the 162.5 worked out the best for my setup. After putting it in,, and running it for 5-10 min. to get the engine hot... I made multiple runs keeping trim and weight exactly the same on ech run and slowly opening up the high speed needle to find her G-spot... Once everything was said and done. I'm running on a hammer prop. going 33mph at 4300RPMs in my Gator Trax 17X54 w/hunt deck, 2 batteries, a trolling motor, 9gal. of gas and me. Speed is something I can care less about... Hauling 3 guys their gear and 10 dozen decoys and still have enough ass to get OUT of most any situations is what I yern for (and now have even more of)!! My high speed screw is now 2 1/2 turns open compared to the 1 3/4 turn it orig. was. Spark plugs are nice and gray and she reacts to WOT much better and purrs like one of Carole Baskin's tigers now... best thing I've done to this bad ass motor...
