I had a similar problem. it turned out there was a wire between the coils that was zip tied to the intake and it was rubbed bare from the motor coverings. So, i think it was occasionally gounding out on the intake which made it have a weak spark or no spark at all. Thought it was a fuel issue but it was just an intermittent electrical PITA!
