 Re: New Hybrid mud motor design
let me get this straight you claim you have a patten # for this design. Yet you are afraid to post up real drawings. Hello if you have the dam thing patented how is someone gonna steal your idea. You still posted up the general idea. Which someone could use. Will it have neutal and reverse? How about power trim?

 Re: New Hybrid mud motor design
Im callin Bull$hit. 27 outta 62 posts on this topic. 3.7 gpa in eningeering no less and can't spell. Has talked to 3 different MM companies personally yet not a whole lot of people know him. His patent pending picture looks like a cartoon drawling. The many people who posted about great critique were pretty much dismissed with "I got it covered". Man, I hope you revolutionize MM's. But im just not buyin' it.

So when I get done building the motor I will post a video.
From the video you will be able to see the advantages of this type of mm design has to offer.

 Re: New Hybrid mud motor design
Usually simpler is better so why not eliminate the gearbox, put the CV joint at the bottom with a lower angle. Put the drive belt from the output shaft of the engine to just ahead of the CV joint. Dang! scratch that idea. That's what GoDevil did. Good idea though.
How about shortening the belt and moving the prop further back. That would require moving the engine to regain balance, but that's easy, I had to do that on my Diesel surface drive. Forget using a CVT though. I couldn't get it to spool up.

 Re: New Hybrid mud motor design
CV= Constany Velocity joint
Dual Cardan joint Also refered to as a CV. It is what is used on driveshafts.
WHat are you planning to use? CV joints are commonly used as halfshafts in IFS front suspensions and front wheel drive cars. Dual cardan joints are used on driveshafts to elleminate vibrations up to a certain degree.

 Re: New Hybrid mud motor design
Hopp,
When ya got a second give us cost and weight of this thing. If it is constructed as you say it will be it will sink most boats.
Last time I checked parts that you are describing are not cheap either.

 Re: New Hybrid mud motor design
Dont listen to these clowns. Build your rig just like you see it. If it dont work improve......you are thinking outside the box and thats why you have companys attention. do you think PD GT or GD got it right the first time.......no....... It might not be the fix but its a start. and for you jacklegs that say his drawing is bad do a serch for patents and you will see that alot of your drawings are just like his. later.
