Post subject:  "Leaking" fluid?

Was running my 23 GDSD yesterday morning and noticed a decent amount of what appeared to be a mix of gas, carbon and what not coming out of the breather on the head. Mind you, I don't have anythign on the breather nipple like it was stock. I'm running tbe BPS crossover exhaust and mikuni carb. What would cause this? Is it runnign too rich and not burning up all the gas? What can I put on the breather nipple to keep crap out? Thanks

Dave

Yes, i did notice a difference. However, I also replaced the carb and prop at the same time. I ran it with just the carb and exhaust replaced first and I did notice a difference. It is louder than the stock exhaust for sure. Even with the baffle in it's pretty loud, sounds bad ass, but louder than stock. Sounds like a Harley on water...

sounds to me like you left your crankcase breather open when you installed your Mikuni and now you have a light oily mist comin out which is normal, and which is why it's routed back to your stock carb to introduce it back into the intake system and burn it off. Go to Autozone and find you a little mini K&N looking filter to put on the end of the nipple coming off the crankcase breather.

If indeed I'm wrong & you really do have gas coming out of that thing then you got big problems. lol
