Shimming Valve Springs, Dual Springs or Both?
I have seen several different posts about the benefits of shimming the valve springs to decrease the risk of floating the valves at higher RPM's. Makes perfect sense. Do you use dual springs as well? I am not sure where my springs are shimmed I need to check, but I am currently running dual springs, with a modified Cam, Head work, SS Valves stock size, Muffler, modified air filter and modded stock carb. I am replacing the Carb with a BPS Mikuni, and going to the larger size SS Valves. and this is about all I am going to do, except the intake.
Would you take the dual springs off? Thoughts on going to the larger size SS Valves? Thx for the input. Since I hijacked the last thread, I thought I would just start a new one. Thx for your input!!

one or the other not both.
And you should add an electric fuel pump.

I added the fuel pump last year. The best 30 bucks I have spent.
Thoughts on larger SS Valves vs SS stock size valves? The iron mountain heads are tempting, but I thought I would go to the larger ss valves and see how this goes first. Much cheaper!

You can get the IM heads with oversized SS valves, its like $100 option.
