I just picked up my rig 2-3 weekens ago. I have a quick question. 2011 GTR

After a run and I get off the gas it will kill or sound like its starvin for fuel when I squeez the throtle it seems like its not gettting anything. Its this just a idle prob where turning up the idle will help?

Seems like most stock briggs engines have a 'flat spot' right when you try and get accelerate. Its almost like you have to feather it through that little spot.

where is your gas tank located? and what type of fuel pump do you have? you probably have a new CDI motor but maybe not... if your gas tank is located in the front try adding an electric fuel pump... never ran a stock motor so like others say it may just be a stock issue... it may be a fuel pressure issue if you are trying to get the vacuum driven pump to suck all the way from the front of the boat

Yes it is new cdi and the gas tank is in the front. I have a little extra gas line in the front I could do away with 8"-12" maybe. I'll also check the clamps on the "ball". It's kinda an issue on start ups as well. It takes a while from what it seems to get the gas to it and going good. Once it runs for a while it's ok. But there is still some issue. Thank guys

The CDI motor will idle like a dream at 900RPM much better than a regular 35 w/ stock carb. Try adusting your idle mix screws on top of the carb (black caps on them) CCW. The cap has a limiter on it to keep you in a range for emmissions. If you need a little more then cut the limiter arms off. Make sure the engine is warm (5 mins) before making any adjustments.

The vacuum driven fuel pump on that motor is much better than the cam driven one. You shouldn't need a primer bulb (causes alot of problems). I run a CDI with a 20' fuel line and it starts right up even when it runs out of gas.

I had a little extra up front where the tank was forming somewhat of a loop so I cut about 12". I adjusted the idle to 900'ish. I hope to take it out in the morning and see if this helps thanks for the tips!!
