There is advantages to modding a motor vs buying a bigger motor and likewise advantages to having the bigger block vs modding the smaller one. Modding the one you have, you will get a smoother powerband, better load capabilities, no more weight, and similar power to the big block. Buying a new block, you get a motor that was designed to run with the parts it comes with, probably a warranty, ability to get a lot more power out of it if you chose to mod it down the road. That being said, they have had really good luck with modding the 23's. You can get a lot of power out of those little forkers. Do a search for username filter and check out his ride. You can start small and do work as you have time and money. Rather than buying a bigger block out right. Depending on the size hull your running, weight could be a big determining factor. |
