i got my new gtr 23 friday .. it has 32 inch shaft .. its on a 1448 alweld .. i was topping out at 21.3 mph deep water it is steadly gaining speed the more i break it in.. ..

my question is do you think i would get more speed if i went back to the 26 shaft instead of the 32?

x2 A 16-17 foot mud hull would probably run better...

no it came with it on there but i have the other one availible .. but its not an easy swap out so i didn't wanna waste the guys time swapping it out for 2 mph more.. but . if i get 4 to 6 more it'd be well worth it

i told you before you ordered that motor that a longer shaft would not make you go any quicker or any slower goober. and i also told you that a 16-17 foot boat would be quicker than a smaller boat but ya didnt listen to me then either. this is where i get to say.... i told you so :D

Prop shaft length isn't gonna affect your speed.....your boat is the problem! The 23 GTR runs best on a 17 to 18 ft foot boat! Normally, when the 23 is put on a 18 x 44 !oat it'll easily run mid 20's . Sometimes a little better!

Just put a 23GT on a 16/36 will post some speeds as soon as I get it in the water. The motor was a tall transom and the boat is a short, put a jack plate so the motor is set back another 4". Had a 23GDSD on a 15/48 back in the day and it suck ass, way slow and couldn't carry a load for nothing. Just threw this boat together for this season last minute for a lease we picked up late. Good luck!
