iv been trying to contact micah for about a week now and boy is this some bs. I can even talk to someone about a part much less buy one.
Iv got the mikuni carb and evt intake w evy exhaust and my air filter that is about 4'' long had melted from touching the muffler. Anyone know where to buy a short maby 2'' air filter like mb sells? I need a rain cover too but im really gettin pissed trying to deal through mb. what kinda options are yall using for rain covers?

Thought about it and theres alot of good mb dealers here so instead of the topic stating "mb cust serv sux" it should state " getting in touch with micah sux" sorry if i offended anyone here.

I think Micha is busy working on the new engines people ordered , and are behind on. That is probably a little more important than an air filter. Now, maybe if you just purchased a MB 7000 and dropped 10k, he may stop and talk to you.
Lets see, EVT intake, EVT exhaust, Mikuni carb, Briggs engine, That fukin MB customer service, they suck :o :o

Do you often call Ronald McDonald to order a McChicken??

Try a tape measure and K&N.com

:o

Seriously though, why would you spend a week trying to get something so simple as an air filter? There is a thousand other places to get one from. As others stated try unifilter, s&b, or k&n websites. Just order one that is the way you want it. Could have already had one...

And saveon is kinda right. Them boys got better thangs to do than find an air filter for a customer who spent all their money somewhere else. Is that right? No, but its probably the truth. Did you try to call Mike or Robert and see if they could get a lower profile filter for you? Or have a recommendation on where to find one?

I will say, I've never had any trouble getting in contact with someone at PD ;)

Good customer service is all about treating every issue/question just as important as the next. Although an air filter doesn't seem like a big deal, the guy wanted to talk to someone from mud buddy about trying to get the right air filter for his motor, and mud buddy didn't step up to the plate.

IDK, everytime I've called mud buddy I got Justin on the phone and haven't had a problem once. Got parts ordered and questions answered each time.

For what its worth Darrel, I have been told by several including Chops here who is a sponsor and sells many various items, he is not a great fan of the metal rainguard because they have either had problems with it pinching and cutting the prefilter, or the metal guard just falls off. Other than that rainguard, I don't know of any hood that you can attach unless you fab one on yourself.

I must say, I give my prefilter a shot of silicone every so often and its all good. I got caught in a rainstorm the worst I have ever seen on Labor Day Weekend. I had to take shelter on the porch of a houseboat for 1 1/2 hours before I could see it wouldn't let up. My auto bilge pump probably kickled on three times. My motor fired right up, and I continued to run thru a ridiculous thunderstorm, and motor did not even give me a hiccup. Just keep it silicone treated.

I carry a small ziploc bag and bungee cord that will slip right over the filter for trailering or sitting at a camp overnight or whatever as a safety precaution.

The thought of the prefilter only used to bother me, but trust me. It got put to the test with the last rainstorm I went thru. It was the mother of all rain events. Everybody else is using the prefilter only and you really don't hear too much about filter/water problems.

IF you keep it out overnight just put a ziploc on it with a bungee and tigheten it up. I trailer it down the road sometimes and it stays on. Tons of people hunt in the rain with no problem so I think you might be worrying a little too much.

The rainguard Mudbuddy puts out looks likek it would do the trick if we knew it would stay put. I think something like that could be fabbed up with a secruing strap or something if youhave a little ingenuity.

I went through one that same weekend down south. My rig was on the trailer witht the motor trimmed up and we went through a good 1/2 hours or so flooding rain. After it stopped I went out and cranked the motor and ran it. Was worried that at the angle it was sitting water would have ran right down into the carb. Never had a issue though. I keep a ziplock handy too but it dont work if you dont put it on.

The problem with calling BPS is that no one can answer your questions (motor or shipping related) except the couple folks who are always busy building motors and cant answer the phone. Its understandable that they are busy now. But there should be a competent person to talk to when ever you call. And they wont return your call either. The person that orders the .10 cent forking washer is just as important and the person that ordered than 7000 IMO......
