My trim on my 35hp MB is working on and off. What do you think it could be? Should I replace the swtich or the entire trim unit. This is the older model trim. |

Has anyone converted the old thompson to the lectrotab one without buying the entire base. I imagine I could get something welded up to make it work. Thanks for any input. |

Have you done all the troubleshooting & know for sure that the trim unit is out for sure? I'm with Caddo, most likely is a bad connection. Could be as simple as a connector that is loose, a broken wire, or even a bad relay. Before ya go drop $150 on a replacement unit, open the football & check the connectors on the switch. If that's all good, check to make sure ya have power to the switch (using a test light or volt meter). Next, check the relay & make sure it's also got power to it. If all that's good, make a jump wire to connect both posts on the relay & try the trim again. Good luck, hope it's a simple & cheap fix. ![]() |
