Anybody ever tryed to make a rope start for 36 briggs. Every time I go frogging always have to bring extra battery or small generator in case. Know it will be hard but what happens if all else fails!

This may seem stupid but would you need some kind of compression release to use the rope start. I know how much my arm hurts after pulling on the rope for my four-wheeler when the release does not engage.

I know what your saying but you have to look at the diameter of the rope pulley on a three wheeler it is small and to make one to fit a briggs would be about 2 to 3 times larger which gives the puller three times more tourque. Just think of the pull rope on 50 fourstoke outboards. about the same size. im going to cnc machine a disk that would fit in place of the screen on the flywheel that you could rap a small rope like the one that comes from outboard manfactures as a last resort and make it so you have to remove the first screen on the cover with wings nuts to get to.

Looks to me like you would be better off to take a jumper box or a lawn tractor battery. Gonna wear your arm out trying to pull start one that big.

Better come up with a real good way to secure that metal disc to the flywheel, could get real nasty if it came loose at WOT

Do you rember cranking your first couple of cars? Or maby your tractor. Buy a good battery and do the maintance on your charging system and enjoy your startr motor.

The pull rope will not do you any good, the carb needs 12vdc for fuel !!

Get a jumper box

I know my 36 has never started on the first revolution it usually takes three to four before she'll fire up, while at the same time holding the throttle wide open. Should be interesting. Good Luck!
