 Setup question
I currently have a alumacraft 1756aw semi V with a 50 horse mercury 4 stroke.. I am thinking about getting rid of the outboard and getting a mud motor.. I have been looking at the 5500 black death.. Would the alumacraft be a decent boat to run with that motor or would I have to get something that could handle it a little better????

 Re: Setup question
semi v's and mm's dont cooperate very well. If I were you I would buy a hull built for a mm

 Re: Setup question
Sell your current setup, then buy the 5500 and put it on an 1850 GatorTrax. You will like it.

 Re: Setup question
Or buy a gator tail to have the instant reverse option or go with a prodrive if u want the full power reverse option either way having some kind of reverse is better than none

 Re: Setup question
Ihave myne on a 1854 seaark. It is a stage 3 prodrive pretty much, and it pushes myne 30 naked with me and mid to upper 20's loaded.

 Re: Setup question
I have a Black Death 5500 on a 1750 Hunt Deck Gator Trax, by myself I get 32 and with 2 people and a hunting load 29. If I had to do it again I would get the 4500 instead since it's easier to tune.
Sed, do you have twin carbs on your pro drive?

 Re: Setup question
no, have thought about it, but from what I hear there isn't much more to gain.
