Post help!
I am having a couple problems with my 35 GTR. I am eventually going to get a stage I by hoyt. And possibly a mikuni after that. But I am trying to make my stock engine run right before that. I have ajusted my idle numerous times but something is wrong. When i hit it in gear, I have to eigther have the engine out of the water or hold the gas to a higher rpm in the water. Once I am in idle i have to constantly stay on the gas or it will kill. I dont know what this could be? Also, when i got my boat brand new, I was running about 29 mph. Now, i am pushing to get 27. Are my idle problems possibly hurting my top end?
Thanks!

sounds like the governor isnt working properly or not properly adjusted. that thing will give you fits if its not working right. def fix that before you do anything else to it

Out of the water about 1200-1500. If i am not on the throttle, once it hits the water it kills. I would, but its in the heart of duck season and i cant afford to have it in leaureaville for the whole season.

I live in destrehan. But I actually have family in Plaquemine. I may be around here for the hoildays. I will keep in touch. But would the idle problem have anything to do with my top end? Or is that not going to affect each other. Also, could there be a proble with a jet?

I think you just need to bend da gov tab a little and adjust da throttle cable.

For it dying when you first put it under load, its a minor adjustment of the tab on your governed idle spring. Have you let it set up for a while? Sounds a little like you need your carb cleaned up(especially the little perforations on the top of the throttle throats)
