A buddy called last night and said he had about 2 qts of fuel mixed in with his engine oil when he went to change it. I am suspecting a stuck float, but he says the motor has been running fine. This is on the new marine engine, and I believe it runs a vacuum fuel pump. Could it be the pump???? |

With that much fuel in the oil Id be worried about the bearings that rely on oil feed to keep the lubricated. Fuel dilutuon is something to be concerned about. |

Found the problem. Pressure built up in fuel tank from extended road trip and the vent screw closing down. |

Wow...that is alot of gas to be in the oil from pressure being built up in the tank. Glad yall found the problem. |

that vent will getcha everytime. float needle cant hold it back- kinda like the man cant hold me back. |

For the first twenty something hours, my PD was fine. Now at around thirty hours it is getting oil in the fuel. The fuel tank is in the bow, and the boat is equipped with an electric fuel pump mounted on the transom. I don't know the exact volume, but the gasoline will raise the oil level about 1/8" in approximately one hour of running time. The fuel tank vent is wide open. The fuel tank is located well below the carb. There has been no change in performance since this began. Am I looking at a needle valve issue, or something else? |
